    <summary type="html">I don't claim to have invented the term, but I believe it's a merging of the two words apathy and theist.... indicating we just don't think it matters whether there is a god or not.... we're apathetic about it.   Dunno if the word has ever been used outside this tribe....</summary>

I just joined this tribe. While the single tenet at the heart of "apatheism" is a (non)belief I have long espoused, I have never seen this term before. &#xD;
&#xD;
What is its source? Who coined it? I have to admit my knowledge of Greek is minimal. How is the prefix apa- different from the more common apo- in this usage?</summary>
